Synchrotron Radiation in Art and Archaeology

The venue of the conference will be the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MMA), one of the premier art museums in the world. Its education center provides high-level lecture rooms and adequate facilities for poster presentation. The Museum provides a meeting venue which is in the heart of Manhattan, with easy access to a host of other cultural sites and amenities. We complement this outstanding venue with access to some of the key facilities offered by New York University's Institute for Fine Arts (IFA). IFA is proposing to host social events in the James B. Duke House, only 5 minutes walk from MMA. IFA will also be able to offer low-cost student accommodation in Greenwich Village, a short subway ride from the MMA. Greenwich Village itself is an exciting environment, and a good base for exploring Manhattan.

The location of MMA on Museum Mile in New York City will allow participants to visit museums in the neighborhood, for which special entrance arrangements will be provided.

The welcome reception for all participants will be organized at the Institute of Fine Arts, a historic house close to MMA, which will provide a unique venue for the get-together party.
