March 24 - 28, 2013
The NSLS-II and MAX-IV storage rings, currently scheduled to open in 2015 and 2016, respectively, will present the magnetism and magnetic materials community with exciting new tools for research, enabled by the exceptional increase of x-ray beam brightness from the new, ultra-low emittance storage rings. The MXLS-13 Workshop is a follow-up to a highly successful similar workshop, MXLS10, held at Port Jefferson, NY in Nov. 2010. The new workshop will build upon the results of MXLS10 and will explore both pressing science questions and opportunities in nano-magnetism and new materials, as well as the approaches towards interrogation of these issues via advanced synchrotron-based and complementary techniques. Attendance is by invitation.
